【摘要】:1.1ThisspecificationcoverstestmethodsandacceptancecriteriafordeterminingtheacceptabilityofgearoilsforapplicationswhichspecifyalubricantmeetingtheperformancerequirementsofAPICategoryGL-5service.Lubricantswhichmeettheseperformancerequirementsaretypicallyintendedforuseinautomotiveaxles,particularlythosecontaininghypoidgears,operatingundervariouscombinationsofhigh-speed/shock-loadandlow-speed/high-torqueconditions.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
